ARIES / The Ram / March 21st – April 20th

Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, the sign that symbolizes new beginnings.  It connotes quick changes and sudden forks in the road.  The sign is full of adventure and ambition and is prone to being impulsive, enthusiastic, independent, and filled with energy.  There is a dynamic restlessness to the Aries’ archetype.  

Aries is a sign of leadership and is generally not a good follower. The sign’s competitive spirit holds them true to its purpose.   It seeks to overcome challenges and looks for new ideas, always wanting to be at the forefront of everything.  Aries needs a cause to fight for – the trick is that it’s the right cause and to learn the difference between what can be changed and what can’t.  

While Aries is optimistic, if there is any underlying insecurity no one will ever know about it.

Self-reliance is part of Aries but so is selfishness.  Aries can be impatient, seeking the fastest rather than the best result. Without a constructive outlet for its energy, there is risk of aggression including hot tempers, arguments, and childish temper tantrums. 

In relationships, Aries is talkative (often extremely so), frank, direct, and candid.  It makes an enthusiastic, open-hearted, and generous friend.  In love relationships, Aries is playful and romantic offering its partner unbridled passion.  While it can be capable of deep and lasting devotion, Aries can also be insensitive and inconsiderate.

To access Aries energy in a productive way, you need to become aware of your pioneering spirit.  It’s important for Arians to resist spiraling into emotions such as resentment, regret, or self-pity, because if they take hold, Aries loses the ability to be straightforward.
