VIRGO / The Maiden / August 23rd – Sept 22nd

This astrological sign tends to be misunderstood.  Known as The Maiden or The Virgin does not mean that Virgo is a prude or lacks sensuality.   

Virgo is industrious, methodical, and efficient.  Its hallmark is intelligence. Virgo analyzes everything and its brain is in overdrive most of the time.  Yet, its seeking for perfection tends to overcomplicate things.

Eminently sensible, Virgo uses its critical eye well.  Its attention to detail springs from a desire to help others; Virgo was made to serve and prefers to remain in the background, lending a hand when needed.

Virgo is extremely grounded and would much rather be humble and easy-going than flashy.  As a mutable sign, Virgo is balanced and fair in its assessments.  Intellectually enquiring, methodical and logical, Virgo appreciates hearing different points of view although it has little confidence in its own conclusions.

On the surface, Virgo can seem emotionally cold and may sometimes come across as self-centered.  It rarely can accept criticism or admit it is wrong.

It enjoys material possessions and is picky about what it brings into its life.  Virgo is associated with a fastidious love of cleanliness, hygiene, and good order.  It tends to support the status quo.  Virgo can have difficulty getting in touch with deeper feelings because its mechanism of denial – “I’m okay, I’m not upset” is so entrenched.

The drama of Virgo happens within its interior.  While it appears to be calm, it houses nervousness, restlessness, and controlled intensity.

While Virgo can be a worrier, it does its best to temper these impulses.  Responsibility most worries Virgo and it can find it hard to trust people. 

However, Virgo also has considerable charm and dignity. Although Virgo has a slight tendency towards jealousy, it makes a devoted partner and is always available to friends.  

Virgo’s challenge is to not allow worrying to get out of hand and to be prepared to sometimes accept that life is often less than perfect and “good enough” may be “good enough”.
