LIBRA / The Scales / September 23rd – October 22nd

Libra uses diplomacy and gentle persuasion to achieve what it wants.  Highly sociable and charming, Libra has the gift of making others feel important, is a superb listener, and instinctively knows how to draw out another person.  

Libra is often artistic and finds it important to have beauty in their surroundings.  Often people are surprised at the wide range of its interests because Libra is so adept at hiding its superior intellect under an agreeable, easygoing exterior.

A narcissist at heart, Libra expects admiration and enjoys being the jewel in the center of every setting.  It remembers every compliment ever paid to it.

Libra is sensitive to other people’s needs and tries to meet them.  Beneath Libra’s friendly exterior, it desperately longs for love and approval.  It has trouble saying no to others’ requests and takes on too much.  Beneath Libra’s smile can be hidden a wealth of resentment.    

It loathes cruelty, viciousness and vulgarity and detests conflict.  Peace is worth any price and usually Libra will go a long way out of its way to avoid friction and dissention. To avoid an unpleasant scene, Libra will stifle its own feelings and in fact, far too often is not sure of its own true feelings.  Its desire to make everyone happy makes it hard for it to cope with intense emotions and Libra avoids the more unpleasant aspects of relationships.  Because it tries to be all things to all people, there is a general impression of indecisiveness.  

Libra’s ideal for its own circle and for society, is unity.  Libra has a natural ability to spot and promote the talent of others and will seize any opportunity to do so for mutual benefit.  Libra is the sign of partnerships and is at its best in personal relationships, whether they be partners, lovers, mates, family, friends, or business associates.  A close relationship is of paramount importance to Libra as it gains self-knowledge for its involvement with others.  In the professional world, Libra is a superb team player.
